I can't see my webcam

Start recording story and there's only a blank screen

If you're about to record and can't see your camera preview, it's likely due to permissions not being set correctly in your browser.

Follow these instructions to reset permissions and give StoryTagger access to your webcam and microphone.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the icon to the left of the address bar.

  2. Choose "site settings."

  3. Under Permissions, find "Camera" and "Microphone" and set each to "Ask" or "Allow."

  4. Go back to the site and reload the page. When prompted, allow camera and microphone.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the icon to the left of the address bar.

  2. Choose "site permissions."

  3. Under "camera" and "microphone" set each to "ask" or "allow.

  4. Return to the site and reload the page. When prompted, allow camera and microphone.

What you'll see if camera permissions are not allowed for StoryTagger:
